Transformation

WAD - Préparation de la papaye pour séchage

Transported from Mepon, the fruit is washed, peeled, cut and packed by hand to ensure the highest possible quality.
The fruit dryers we use meet European food industry requirements.
We use solar energy in our production.

Drying stages for Papaya

  • The papayas are washed and then peeled one by one
  • The seeds are removed
  • They are then sliced with a knife
  • The slices are arranged on the drying racks
  • The basins and other tools are washed after preparing the fruit for each drying period

Culture - Production

Wad papaya growers are located in Krodua and Botoku in the eastern and central region of Ghana.

WAD - Papayer

There are three types of papaya. The female, the male and the hermaphrodite. Only the hermaphrodite female can produce fruit.

Within a year of planting, the papaya tree begins to bear fruit. Between 15 and 30 fruits can be harvested per tree per year. The variety grown is «solo».
